The bushland in our suburbs is getting smaller every day. So it’s important for all of us to do our bit and help our native wildlife survive. In this workshop, we’ll look at practical and cost-effective ways to encourage native flora and fauna back to the burbs by introducing simple design ideas to link existing wildlife corridors to our backyards.

We’ll discuss good garden design techniques that use native plants that are appropriate to where you live.
We’ll explore the best ways to properly maintain and feed your local varieties.
You’ll learn how and when to take cuttings and divisions.
We’ll examine how to keep all our native fauna, such as bees, lizards, butterflies and birds happy.
We’ll look at the best water, food and shelter options to encourage native fauna.
We’ll run over all the best watering techniques to help your garden bloom.

Build your own terrarium

Put your creative hat and get ready for a fun workshop learning how to make your very own plant terrarium.
⌛ 2 HOURS 🌤 All YEAR 🐝 BEGINNERS
You’ll get to flex your creative brain with this workshop. We’ll take you through all the things you’ll need to make your very own plant terrarium, including plant selection, soil composition and on-going care.
OVERVIEW
We’ll have heaps of stuff on hand, however you’re welcome to bring your own container, along with any other little props you to want to add too. Best to bring something that you can easily fit your hand into. Think about reusing some old vessels such as fish bowls or lanterns. We’ll supply all the other materials.
You’ll learn about the right kind of plants that work best in terrariums.
Discover the best soil mixes to use to make sure your plants survive and thrive.
We’ll show you how to water and feed your plants.
Lastly, we’ll share some design tips to help you construct something beautiful.
